Distribution

Classical educational literature about film production often doesn’t mention the distribution phase at all. And indeed – many tasks such as format conversions, duplication, synchronization or subtitling might even be considered to be related to the pots-production phase. Therefore, post-production is often mentioned as final phase. However, any film needs to attract viewers in order to raise money or at minimum to cover the cost related. So, there are distribution and marketing related activities as well, such as the participation on film festivals or the production of trailers. These activities here are the outcome of the “video marketing strategy” and required to be planed before the production starts. In order to become commercially successful or to raise the money necessary all steps need to be planed before filming.
